‘Abject Failure’ — Documents Relating to Harris Role in Border Crisis Demanded by House Committee

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee on Tuesday launched an investigation into Vice President Harris’ efforts, or lack thereof, in responding to the crisis at the southern border, and has demanded that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) release all internal communications with Vice President Harris’ office regarding illegal immigration.

The move was announced in a letter from Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) to Acting CBP Commissioner Troy Miller outlining the demands, saying the relentless human suffering caused by illegal immigration can no longer be tolerated.

Mass illegal immigration under the Biden-Harris Administration has contributed to murder, sexual assault, and serious injury committed against many Americans at the hands of illegal immigrants.

The committee is requesting documents and communications to understand Vice President Harris’ role in the worst border crisis in American history.

of letter Miller called Harris’ record “abysmal,” pointing to her previous comments suggesting an overhaul of immigration enforcement and her record of pushing for a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants while doing little to address the issue.

“The committee seeks to understand whether Vice President Harris has done ‘anything’ to address the worst border crisis in American history,” the document states.

The committee clarified that it is seeking “all documents and communications between U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Office of the Vice President regarding the Southwest border and illegal immigration.”

The move comes after the House passed a resolution last month introduced by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), with the support of all Republicans and six Democrats, condemning Harris for her “mismanagement” as a “border czar.”

Comer’s letter is the latest effort by Republican lawmakers to tackle illegal immigration and comes a day after House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) released his own report examining how the Biden-Harris Administration has treated immigrants on terrorism watch lists. Note.

Biden, March 2021 Assigned a task Harris’ broad range of duties has led many media outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, CBS and ABC, to describe her as a “border czar.”

Earlier this month, when the nickname seemed to undermine Harris’ chances of winning the 2024 presidential election, the same media outlet announced that “border czar” was not her title, Breitbart News’ Neil Munro reported.
