During Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said abortion rights are “a growing circle of freedom in this country,” adding that “our Founding Fathers had a great vision for this country, but they couldn’t put it into the Constitution. But thankfully, they made the Constitution amendable.” That expands freedoms to include subjects made possible by constitutional amendments, like the abolition of slavery and the elimination of voting discrimination based on race or sex.
