Captain America just gets better and better!
AC Milan midfielder Christian Pulisic has been having a banger of an early start to the campaign, and things only continued Tuesday after he scored an exotic “Olimpico” goal against Club Brugge (Belgium) in the UEFA Champions League. An Olimpico goal is when a player scores directly on a corner kick.
The score from the United States superstar at the San Siro took place in the 34th minute of action, rocketing an in-swinging corner from the left to leave the goalkeeper completely flabbergasted — and Brugge’s defenders at that. And to make it even crazier, it managed to not hit a single soul prior to getting into the net, and just … How? The goal was the first “Olimpico” ever that Pulisic scored in his career, and it also bumped him up to 10 goal contributions in 10 games for both AC Milan and the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT). On top of that, it’s also Pulisic’s second Champions League goal in three contests this season. His other goal came against Liverpool in September.
Pulisic has five goals and three assists in eight Serie A games, also chalking up an assist for Mauricio Pochettino in his debut match as U.S. manager against Panama earlier in October.
