ActBlue rakes in nearly $50 million in 7 hours after Harris campaign launch

The Democratic fundraising platform said Sunday that small donors had given about $47 million through ActBlue within seven hours of Vice President Harris’ presidential campaign launching on Sunday afternoon.

“As of 9 p.m. ET, grassroots supporters have raised $46.7 million through ActBlue since Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign kicked off, making it the largest fundraising day of the 2024 election cycle. This figure does not just include donations to the Harris campaign, but the total amount raised on the platform.

Biden’s move not to seek reelection comes after Democrats for weeks urged the president to drop out of the race after his disastrous debate performance with former President Trump. Despite a growing number of Democrats calling for him to withdraw, Biden and his campaign had repeatedly denied calls for him to run until this weekend.

Hours after Biden’s announcement, Democrats endorsed Harris as their favorite candidate for the November election, and Harris said late Sunday that she intended to “earn and win” the Democratic presidential nomination.
