Protester Challenges Attorney General Over Church Disruption
William Kelly, an activist opposed to ICE, is challenging U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who has initiated an investigation into him and others involved in a recent protest at a church in Minnesota. Kelly, known as “DaWokeFarmer” on TikTok, urged Bondi to take action against him following a chaotic incident at Cities Church last Sunday.
During the church service, a group of protesters caused a commotion, with one pastor reportedly claiming to be an acting director at ICE’s St. Paul field office. Amidst the uproar, congregants heard shouts of “Get the ICE out” and “Justice for Renee Good.”
After the incident, Kelly posted several videos on social media expressing support for the protesters and directly attacking Bondi. In one video, he used strong language to express his anger toward the Attorney General and the Trump administration.
He wrote on TikTok, “Do they want to come after me? How can people from Somalia, who are legally in this country, be treated so poorly? They’re being discriminated against, and it’s ridiculous. Come and get Pam Bondi, you traitor. All power to the people.”
Church Leaders Respond
In another video, Kelly dismissed Bondi’s response, asserting that political figures are using their influence to target those who disagree with them. “They will come at me with charges, but I’m not afraid,” he claimed. He insisted that the protesters didn’t interfere with the church service, which continued with music and prayers throughout the disturbance.
Kelly further challenged Bondi, saying, “You want to arrest me? That’s fine. And for those who have threatened my life, go ahead. As Fred Hampton said, ‘You can kill a revolutionary, but you can’t kill a revolution!’
Potential Legal Actions
Experts suggest that the Justice Department might adopt a stringent stance following this disruption. Kelly has also been accused of harassing individuals associated with Army Secretary Pete Hegseth’s church in Washington, D.C., prompting Bondi’s investigation announcement earlier in the week.
Bondi mentioned that she spoke with a pastor from the targeted Minnesota church, indicating that threats against law enforcement and Christians would be dealt with severely. “When state leaders fail to act responsibly to combat illegal activity, the Department of Justice will prosecute federal crimes and ensure the rule of law prevails,” she emphasized.
