Brigid Alliance Launches Campaign to Support Abortion Access
Brigid Alliance, an organization focused on facilitating access to abortions for women, initiated an advertising campaign on Monday aimed at Prolife Pregnancy Centers and universities.
The organization provides funding to help women travel for abortions, covering expenses like transportation, meals, hotels, and childcare. They’ve set up multiple signs in Georgia and Louisiana and have targeted online campaigns toward Floridians. Additionally, Brigid deployed several billboard trucks to promote their abortion services.
One of the signs clearly asks, “Do you need an abortion?” and details the services that Brigid offers.
There are three static signs in New Orleans and two in Atlanta, with billboard trucks circulating near local universities and Crisis Pregnancy Centers that advocate for life. Targeted digital and audio ads on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Google Search, and Pandora are reaching residents in Florida, in particular.
Universities such as Emory, Georgia State, Tulane, the University of New Orleans, and Loyola have been specifically targeted.
Brigid explained that they chose these three states due to their stringent pro-life laws.
In Florida, the Republican Governor Ron DeSantis enacted a law prohibiting abortions after six weeks, which became effective in 2023. Pro-abortion advocates have been trying to challenge this law ahead of the 2024 elections.
A similar heartbeat law in Georgia has been in effect since 2019 but was not implemented until after the Roe v. Wade decision was overturned. The law faced numerous legal challenges before being upheld by the state Supreme Court in 2022.
Likewise, the Louisiana Supreme Court has maintained its own law that bans almost all abortions, unless it’s to protect the mother’s life or if the child is not expected to survive outside the womb.
Brigid Alliance has yet to respond to inquiries from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
