Voight Urges Trump to Act Against New NYC Mayor
Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight has issued a video message appealing to President Trump to intervene in response to the newly elected socialist mayor, Zoran Mamdani, who he believes could introduce policies harmful to New York City.
Mamdani’s rise was unexpected; he captured the Democratic nomination during the mayoral primary and won the general election easily in November. He secured 50.4% of the votes, surpassing Andrew Cuomo, who received 41.6%.
“New York City, built on blood, sweat, and tears, is at risk of becoming a refuge for extremist Islamic ideology. This may be the most perilous time for New Yorkers,” Voight stated in his video.
Opponents of Mamdani caution that his extreme socialist policies might exacerbate challenges for city residents, a concern Voight emphasizes, urging Trump to take action.
“The mayor who governs New York City is a Muslim and is attempting to undermine the city that never sleeps,” he begins in his social media clip.
Voight elaborates, warning that “the city of dreams, a place our ancestors envisioned as a land of prosperity and freedom, faces potential darkness. If not addressed, this could lead us towards becoming a sanctuary for dangerous ideologies. The stakes are incredibly high for New Yorkers.”
He argues that Mamdani has no right to enforce policies that infringe on residents’ liberties.
“This cannot continue; his mayorship needs to be terminated immediately,” he asserted.
“You, the people of New York City, might lose your home to this communist fool. We must stand together to honor our flag and what it signifies: one nation under God, ensuring liberty and justice for all,” Voight added.
He called upon the president for support by saying, “We, the people, have trust in President Trump. As Mayor Mamdani attempts to damage New York’s wealth and transform it into a city governed by socialist ideals, he has the power to halt this tragedy.”
Voight, who is 86 and a fervent Trump supporter, was awarded the National Medal of Arts by the president in 2019.
Let this serve as a wake-up call for everyone, and may God bless you,” he concluded.
