Julian McMahon, the Australian actor famous for his roles in “Fantastic Four,” “Nip/Tuck,” and “Charmed,” has sadly passed away at the age of 56. His wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed the news, stating that he had been battling cancer.

In a heartfelt message, Kelly shared, “I want to open up and share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, passed away peacefully this week after a brave effort to overcome cancer.” She described his love for life and his passion for his family, friends, work, and fans. “His deepest wish was to bring joy to as many lives as possible,” she added, requesting privacy for their family during this difficult time.

Born on July 27, 1968, in Sydney, Australia, McMahon had remarkable connections; his father served as Australia’s prime minister from 1971 to 1972. He began his career in modeling before transitioning to acting. His early roles included a part in the Australian soap “Power, Passion” in 1989 and another soap, “Away from Home,” from 1990 to 1991.

He gained wider recognition after starring in the crime drama “Profiler” in 1992 and, of course, as Cole Turner in “Charmed” from 2000 to 2005, which became a significant part of his career. From 2003 to 2010, he was prominently featured in “Nip/Tuck,” a series created by Ryan Murphy that explored the lives of plastic surgeons.

McMahon was also known for his role as Victor Von Doom in the 2005 superhero flick “Fantastic Four” and its sequel in 2007. He starred in various films thereafter, including “Paranoia” (2013) and “Swinging Safari” (2018). More recently, he led the crime series “FBI: Most Wanted,” announcing his departure from the show in 2022.

In terms of his personal life, McMahon was previously married to singer Dannii Minogue and later to actress Brooke Burns. His last public appearance was in March 2025 at the SXSW Film & TV Festival, where he was promoting his latest project.

As fans and colleagues pay tribute, McMahon leaves behind a lasting legacy through his work and the joy he brought to many. He will be deeply missed.
