Timothy Busfield, an actor and director, acknowledged to police that he “very likely” made physical contact with children while working on the set of “Cleaning Women” in New Mexico, mentioning the absence of clear guidelines concerning such interactions.
An arrest warrant revealed that Officer Marvin Brown, involved in the misconduct investigation, questioned Busfield about any physical contact he had with two young actors. Reportedly, Busfield, who is 68, said, “It’s very likely that I will,” and characterized the environment on set as “playful.”
Currently, Albuquerque police are collaborating with the U.S. Marshals Service to locate Busfield, who faces charges involving sexual contact with a minor and child abuse.
The alleged incidents involve twin boys who were 11 years old during the events in 2024.
In response to inquiries regarding the regulations on “touching or picking up children,” Busfield stated that it is “not allowed” but then noted that there were “no rules” governing interactions between adults and minors, according to the warrant.
He reflected, “I mean, I’m always around people, right? That would be in front of my parents. There’s never a weird moment about it.” This remark was made during an interview with the police on November 3, 2025.
He expressed uncertainty about whether he had picked up the boys specifically but recalled lifting another child who was playing and giggling nearby.
Busfield mentioned that tickling kids was “nothing new” for him but insisted that he “doesn’t remember ever overtly tickling the boys” in relation to these claims.
When asked whether parents could monitor their children via iPads while on set, Busfield said that such practice was “not standard process” but asserted that child actors were “never alone on set without teachers, welfare workers, or parents.”
He has been reported missing and is facing multiple counts of criminal misconduct against minors, with allegations stating he inappropriately touched one boy three to four times and the other five to six times.
One of the boys expressed feeling “very scared” of Busfield during their time on set and, notably, did not speak up at the time.
