Adam Boehler withdraws nomination to be Trump’s top hostage negotiator

The Trump administration has retracted the nomination of Adam Berer, who will serve as a special presidential envoy on the hostages issue, the White House said Friday.

“Adam Baler will continue to serve President Trump as a special government official focused on hostage negotiations,” a White House spokesperson told the Post.

“Adam played an important role in negotiating the return of Mark Vogel from Russia,” the spokesman added. “He will continue this important work and bring home individuals who have been unfairly detained around the world.”

A senior White House official has shown that Bowler, as a special government employee in the administration, chose to avoid the need to sell from the medical company he co-founded, like Doge Chief Elon Musk.

“He still has the greatest confidence in President Trump,” the official added.

Bowler sparked controversy earlier this month after reporting that Axios had been in secret consultations with Hamas officials about the hostages held by terrorist groups.

Earlier this week, Secretary of State Marco Rubio described an unprecedented move to allow bowlers to negotiate with terrorist groups as a “one-off situation.”

“It was a one-off situation where special envoys of hostages were able to release people and had the opportunity to control these people, speak directly with those who were given permission and encouraged to do so,” Rubio told reporters.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was not notified of the secret meeting, Israeli officials said.

Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dahmer told Netanyahu's security cabinet that the Bowler negotiations did not represent the White House's position on peace negotiations.

Dahmer also claimed that the Trump administration would promise Israel that such talks would “never happen again” and that the envoy to Middle Eastern Steve Witkov, not bowler but bowler, would serve as the main negotiator, Israeli officials told the outlet.

Thursday, Jewish insider A Capitol Hill Republican reported that he was personally annoyed by the bowler's media blitz over the weekend.

“He's on the sidelines, which is good, but I don't know what level,” a GOP lawmaker told the outlet. “It was bad, it was beyond disaster. I like Adam, but I think he needs to park.”

Bowler would have requested that Senate approval be confirmed as Trump's envoy.
