Adam Thielen currently plays for the Panthers, but he arrived at Sunday's home game wearing his old Vikings jersey.
Thielen, a two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver with Minnesota from 2014-2022, paid tribute to Hall of Famer Randy Moss, who revealed earlier this week that he was undergoing treatment for cancer. He wore a Vikings jersey number 84.
NBC published the photo on X, as well as another photo showing Thielen wearing a Moss jersey as a child.
Moss, 47, who is currently an ESPN studio analyst, played for the Vikings from 1998 to 2004 and again in 2010 during a 14-year NFL career with five teams.
Moss announced on Instagram Live on Friday that he is a “cancer survivor” after undergoing surgery earlier this month to remove a mass found in the bile duct between his pancreas and liver.
ESPN announced on December 6, “He will be stepping away from “Sunday NFL Countdown'' for an extended period of time to focus on personal health issues.''
Thielen tweeted that day, “Praying for you @RandyMoss and your family!”
Thielen missed more than two months with a hamstring injury earlier this season, but totaled 17 receptions for 201 yards in the two weeks leading up to Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
