Adrian Grenier Talks Compassion for Farmers

Adrian Grenier has expressed understanding for farmers who often face advice on how to conduct their work. In a recent podcast interview, the 49-year-old actor discussed his commitment to sustainability and emphasized the need for people to show respect for farmers, urging others to recognize the challenges they encounter.

“You know, woke liberal college students come up with grand ideas, trying to tell farmers that they should change their practices for the environment,” he commented. “Instead of critiquing them when they can’t afford organic products because they’re too pricey, why not provide them with the resources to tackle agricultural issues?”

Growing up in New York, Grenier admitted he wasn’t very knowledgeable about farming. However, as an environmental activist, he had a somewhat abstract vision of how things ought to be, and he began to see why farmers might depend on chemical fertilizers.

He acknowledged the privilege he has in experimenting with renewable and healthy practices in his work, though he noted that if his crops fail, he still has food available. “Farmers operate on razor-thin margins. If their crops fail, they can go hungry,” he pointed out.

Grenier also shared insights about his acting career and his reasons for stepping back from Hollywood. He originally left the industry in 2016 but hasn’t entirely stepped away from projects. Known for his roles in “The Devil Wears Prada” and “Entourage,” he reflected that while the show portrayed unchecked behavior, reality has consequences.

“I’ve strived to maintain a sense of calm, yet I came to realize that I was getting too caught up in things. I lost track of what my true self was or, well, maybe I never really had that sense of direction,” he said. “But I’ve had to re-center myself regarding my spirituality and purpose in life.”

Gradually, he began to question, “What have I contributed? What have I nurtured?” In a February 2024 appearance on “Today with Hoda & Jenna,” he likened his experiences in Hollywood and New York to “flying for years,” expressing that he now embraces a more stable lifestyle.

In 2020, Grenier, alongside his wife Jordan Roenmele—an ardent environmentalist—established Kintsugi Ranch near Austin, Texas, which he considers the ultimate expression of his aspirations for the planet. “I sleep better, feel more grounded, and genuinely happier,” he remarked in a September 2023 interview. “Living this way is beneficial for mental health, skills, and resilience. It helps you make wiser choices about life, interactions with others, and caring for the environment.”

Despite a decrease in acting roles, Grenier recently took on hosting duties for the reality show “CryptoKnights” and wrapped up production on the upcoming film “You, Always.”
