Attorney General Merrick Garland plans to release Special Counsel Jack Smith's report on the 2020 election interference case against President-elect Trump, according to a court filing.
The Justice Department on Wednesday told the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that Garland should release to Congress Volume 1 of Smith's report, which deals with Trump's alleged attempt to illegally overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. He said he plans to do so.
