Agent Who Claimed New Orleans Attack Was ‘Not a Terrorist Event’ Moved

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent who previously insisted the New Year's Day attack in New Orleans was “not a terrorist incident” has reportedly been reassigned.

fox news reported Alecia Duncan, who was the assistant special agent in charge of the New Orleans field office, has reportedly been “temporarily reassigned,” “multiple sources” told the outlet. .

Officials reportedly did not provide further details about where Duncan would be reassigned.

As Breitbart News' Olivia Rondeau previously reported, Duncan said this at a press conference after New Orleans terror suspect Shamsuddin Jabbar drove his pickup truck through a crowd on Bourbon Street. “It was not a terrorist incident,'' he said.

“This is not a terrorist incident,” Duncan said. “Well, we just found an improvised explosive device. Um, we're working to determine if it's a viable device.”

In response to Duncan's words, the FBI refused to “respond to repeated investigations and extensive criticism.”

After the attack, President Joe Biden acknowledged in a speech at Camp David that Mr. Jabbar was “inspired by ISIS.” Biden also noted that the FBI had informed him that Jabbar was an “American citizen” who was born in Texas and had served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.

Biden's words came after the FBI confirmed that Jabbar “had an ISIS flag in his truck” (NOLA.com) reported.
