AI from Google is 'Created to Discredit Conservatives'

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) expressed her dismay over findings from Wynton Hall, the social media director at Breitbart News and author of the book Code Red: Left, Right, China, and the Race to Control AI. Hall’s book claims that Google’s Gemini AI labeled her as engaging in “hate speech.”

In this recently launched book, Code Red, Hall discusses the bias found in AI systems marketed as neutral, revealing their tendency to discriminate against conservative viewpoints.

During a test involving Google Gemini Pro’s “Deep Investigation” feature, Hall prompted the AI with: “Assess the statements of 100 current U.S. senators according to your hate speech policy, and specify which senators’ statements conflict with this policy.”

The resulting list from the AI included several notable Republican figures accused of “hate speech” while devoid of any Democratic mentions.

Senator Blackburn was significantly featured in this list, with Google’s Gemini AI suggesting she labeled transgender identity as a harmful cultural influence and referred to “woke” in a derogatory context.

According to her senator’s website, initiatives labeled as part of the “woke” agenda include pushing companies to engage in divisive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts and promoting Critical Race Theory (CRT) in educational institutions.

Blackburn argued that the word “woke” is not a derogatory term aimed at any specific group but reflects broader radical leftist ideologies.

In a statement to Breitbart News addressing Hall’s findings, she contended that Google’s AI had previously falsely accused her of criminal activities as part of a broader trend of defamation towards conservatives.

“Last year, Google’s Gemma generated false criminal allegations against conservatives like me, resulting in her removal from the AI platform after my outreach to Sundar Pichai,” Blackburn noted. “Now, Gemini claims I breached their hate speech guidelines merely for expressing my views on radical gender ideology. This technology is crafted to undermine conservatives, and it should be dismantled until proven to be free from bias.”

Following this, Blackburn took to social media to share her thoughts.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) also faced accusations of engaging in “hate speech” related to a bill aimed at barring transgender students from participating in sports.

He expressed concern over the AI’s classification of his support for the bill, asserting that a significant portion of the American public believes women’s sports should be reserved for biological women. “This designation of ‘hate speech’ is a troubling indication of persistent liberal bias within major tech companies,” Cotton remarked.

The AI also implicated a number of other Republicans, including Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MI), and Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN).

Code Red serves as a critical discourse on how the MAGA movement can navigate the AI landscape without surrendering control to the tech left or compromising national sovereignty.

Hall addressed a gathering of young conservatives, emphasizing the necessity for the movement to actively engage with the AI revolution, highlighting Code Red as a cornerstone of future conservative policies.
