The sheet swapping phenomenon has sparked flyers and many social media debates sharing stories about fellow travelers seeking to switch sheets.
One user appeared to have risen by sharing their experiences on Reddit's “R/Delta” forum.
The title, titled “Finally Saying,” is a user-shared title that “issued if the couple could approach me and change their seats with one of them so they could sit together.”

“Everyone says I've been chronic people for life and I've given up on a seat many times while flying solo and I don't really care unless it's a really crap seat,” Post said.
After nearly two weeks of family vacation, the user said, “This flight felt different… I was just ready to do it,” but was asked if the seat was an aisle and was told it was in the middle.

“I looked at this woman and her husband and simply said, “I'm not grateful.” Her face expression! You would have thought I slapped her,” the post continued.
The user continued.
A passenger on the flight said the woman said, “This trip would definitely be terrible without him.” [her husband] Right next to her,” and she seemed to be on the verge of tears.
Passengers on the flight say the dog barked “non-stop” on the eight-hour flight.
The user said “I've got my noise cancelling headphones owned [the couple] Take an innocent nap.”
Reddit users visited the Comments section to discuss their bold request to switch sheets. Some users shared their experiences.

“It's a good job to practice breaking down the tendency to please your people,” the user commented.
Another user said, “Mutual benefits are the key to asking. Most people don't get it. My ex-boyfriend traded his first class seat for comfort + aisles so he could sit next to me. Ah, young love.
“People don't seem to understand. If you're brave enough to ask, you have to be brave enough to handle the no,” commented another redditor.

“We never understood that. We all allocated seats,” one said.
“If they had to sit together, they could have paid for the seating choice. I don't understand why people are upset when others refuse to switch seats,” another commented.

“I'm with you! Once I've paid my seat, I haven't switched it,” he declared.
“Everyone needs to stick to the gun and ultimately people will stop asking others to abandon their seats,” Redditor said.
“I can also say that I am a recovering person and will never replace the aisles in the middle. I have paid for the seat.

“No one is obligated to switch seats,” California-based etiquette expert Rosa Linda Randall told Fox News Digital.
“The person making the request has no right to expect [this] Or create a scene when they're not walking their own path,” Randall said.
Randall said there may be situations where switching may be a slight inconvenience.

“It's a short flight, you can find similar seats in another row, or someone will improve from the passengers. [you’re currently] I'm sitting next to you,” Randall said.
