AJ Allmendinger had a tough day at the AdventHealth 400 on Sunday at Kansas Speedway. During the first six laps, his car’s engine blew the gaskets, which hampered his ability to keep pace. He expressed his frustration over the team’s engine issues via radio, stating he had lost his engine.
Allmendinger ended up finishing in 38th place. His car is powered by the ECR engine, which supports various teams including Beard Motorsports, Truck House Racing, and others.
In the midst of his struggles, Allmendinger didn’t hold back when addressing the situation, making a pointed remark about the company responsible for the engine.
This season, Allmendinger had managed three top 10 finishes, showing promise for a playoff position in the NASCAR Cup Series. However, this dismal finish in Kansas, along with his 36th place in Texas and 24th in Talladega, dropped him significantly in the rankings.
In contrast, Kyle Larson triumphed in Kansas, marking his third win of the season and solidifying his lead in points over William Byron.
