Alabama mom charged with death of 2 children, 1 year old’s body still missing

An Alabama mother has been arrested after allegedly informing investigators that her missing 1-year-old infant was dead and his body had been stored in a storage facility, according to a criminal complaint.

The discovery came shortly after the accident in which Wendy Pamela Bailey, 22, claimed the lives of Steven Bradley Collins, 40, and Riley Collins, 2.

A third child, Caleb Rowan Collins, 1, is missing.

After investigating Mr. Caleb's whereabouts, the 24th Circuit Attorney's Office and the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation believe that Mr. Caleb is deceased.

The investigation led them to believe that Caleb was not only dead, but had been alive for some time.

Investigators said they had evidence that the father, Stephen Collins, abused the boy and that the mother failed to intervene or report the abuse, according to court documents.

They also believe Bailey knew the body was placed in storage.

The complaint alleges some of the abuse appears, including photos of the child covered in blood hanging from a rope and another photo of the child lying on the floor covered in bruises.

Officials said he also sent messages saying, “He wants to move,” “I'm really sorry,” and finally, “He's moving.” Bailey reportedly replied, “He just looks tired and tired and I hope that's all.”

“His body has not yet been recovered, but law enforcement teams are still actively gathering information and searching for his remains,” the official said.
