Alabama teenager accused of fatally stabbing mother made a disturbing threat to father

A teenager from Alabama is facing accusations after a tragic knife assault on his parents in a quiet gated community. Witnesses report hearing him shout, “I’m going to kill you,” while allegedly attacking his father. Images reveal the bloody front porch where his mother lost her life.

The disturbing incident was captured on home security footage Sunday night at the Bell Forest complex. It showed the 17-year-old threatening his father while wielding a knife.

Sean Scully, a neighbor, recounted hearing commotion coming from the house. “I heard the mother scream,” he said, describing a tense argument. “It sounded like he was pleading, saying, ‘I don’t want to die. Please, no,’ repeatedly asking for help,” he mentioned, referring to the footage.

At a certain point in the tape, the son can be heard saying that his father was going to kill him.

According to authorities, 37-year-old Samantha Baker was fatally stabbed around 9 PM, leaving a neighboring front door smeared with blood. A chilling image shows blood smears on a glass window near where Samantha’s body was discovered.

The chaos began after a fierce disagreement between Samantha, her husband Lance Baker, and their teenage son over family discipline. Captain Justin Correa from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the details to the press.

During the confrontation, the boy—whose identity has not been released—reportedly brandished a knife and attacked both parents multiple times, as per Correa’s account.

Despite their attempts to escape, the violence persisted. Neighbors reported hearing distressing screams as Lance desperately tried to find help, leaving bloody handprints on nearby doors. Scully likened the ordeal to “fighting off a wasp that kept stinging,” citing outside surveillance footage that allegedly captured the son attacking his father.

Correa confirmed that doorbell camera images of the incident were provided to law enforcement, noting that many neighbors were out of town when Lance sought assistance.

Scully, who witnessed some of the unfolding horror, described an encounter with the Bakers’ dog before hearing the panicked cries for help. “I rang their doorbell, but no one answered, and shortly after, I heard a scream in the distance,” she said, detailing how unsettling the moment was.

Ultimately, the boy returned home and called 911, framing the event as a domestic issue. Police took him into custody without resistance, though they refuted claims that he barricaded himself inside.

Upon emergency responders arriving at the normally peaceful street, Scully recounted seeing Samantha’s body, noting the grievous stab wounds on her back, and described the scene as profoundly disturbing.

Samantha, who worked in real estate, was declared dead at the location. Lance, a commander in the U.S. Army Reserve, was rushed to a hospital, where he was reported in critical condition.

By Wednesday, he was stable, as stated by Correa. The teenager faces charges of murder and attempted murder, being processed as an adult, with bail set at $1 million following his arraignment.

Interestingly, their younger son was not present during the horrific events. “This is undoubtedly a tragic situation,” Correa summarized.
