Alan Dershowitz promised free pierogi for life following the dumpling dispute in Martha's Vineyard

Pierogi as a Symbol of Unity Amid Discrimination Claims

Alan Delsitz may not find his pierogi satisfaction in Martha’s Vineyard, but in South Florida, Dwee Deliday’s offering has ensured that a former Trump attorney can enjoy a hearty meal.

Peter Noucien, the owner of Pierogion Restaurant, expressed to the Post that Polish comfort food should be embraced, offering DelShohotz and his family free pierogi for life. He seems very passionate about it.

“Pierogi should unite people, not divide them,” said Noucien, a Polish immigrant who relocated to the U.S. six years ago.

Earlier this month, Martha’s Vineyard made headlines when 86-year-old Alan Dershowitz—former lawyer for Trump and Epstein—joined a local clown vendor and found himself denied service. It turned out to be quite the controversial scene.

Dershowitz, who recently announced plans to sue the West Tisbury Farmers Market over alleged discrimination, claims politics played a role in being turned away.

Nouciën, unsettled by this incident, expressed strong feelings as a Polish immigrant. “I despise hearing about political discrimination in America,” he stated, drawing from his family’s history against communism.

“Discrimination breeds injustice,” he emphasized. Furthermore, he argued that no one should ever be denied food, including pierogi, in the U.S.

While Delsitz may have to skip the shop’s signature Philly Cheesesteak or the other unique pierogi flavors—like spicy beef or bacon-cheddar—Noucion believes in the enduring promise of the American dream.

Reflecting on his own past under communism, he is struck by how America represents boundless opportunities. “We must safeguard our freedoms,” he asserted, recalling Poland’s tumultuous history with division.

“Food has the power to bring people together. While we might not always agree on politics, everyone deserves a place at the table.” It’s a sentiment that resonates, particularly when discussing the role we all play in fostering unity, even if it’s just over a plate of pierogi.
