Alan Dershowitz torches anti-Israel ‘Hitler Youth’ on college campuses, says he’s worried that ‘they are our future leaders’

Prominent lawyer Alan Dershowitz slammed the Hitler Youth he saw “marching against Israel on college campuses,” expressing deep concern that “these are our future leaders.”

In a preview of the Memorial Day vigil, Dershowitz spoke about the crisis and other issues facing America in an interview Sunday. WABC-AM’s “Cats Roundtable” program.

“What I’m worried about is that in 10 or 15 years, these Hitler Youth members will be in parliament, they’ll be on the editorial board of the New York Times, they’ll own media outlets… and [will] They are replacing the stability our Constitution requires with their own radical, progressive, anti-American insanity.”

“Our hearts go out to those we have lost and who we commemorate on Memorial Day. They fought for our freedom and we let that go too easily,” he said.

“We must fight back, but we’re not fighting back fast enough,” Dershowitz exclaimed.

Regarding anti-Israel protests on university campuses, he said, “This is very similar to what happened in Germany in the early 1930s, when Nazi students prevented Jews from entering universities. This is a precursor to what happened in the 1940s.”

A former Harvard Law professor said at a recent Harvard graduation ceremony, “students walked out. They were dressed in support of Hamas. They are on Hamas’ side, and they are our future leaders. That worries me. What worries me is that in 10, 15 years, these Hitler Youth will be in parliament, they will be on the editorial board of the New York Times, they will own media outlets… and [will] They are replacing the stability our Constitution requires with their own radical, progressive, anti-American insanity.”

Given these concerns, Dershowitz urged Americans to use “common sense” and “prioritize” bigger issues like keeping the nation “strong” and securing U.S. interests abroad.

Dershowitz also lamented that American universities are “driving to hell” because of diversity, equity, and inclusion mandates, adding that they are “fundamentally anti-Semitic, anti-intellectual, anti-progressive and anti-meritocratic.”

“The biggest enemy of the far-left today is meritocracy,” said show host John Catsimatidis. “People like you and me, we worked hard, we got ahead on our own merit. We worked hard and got ahead. That’s anathema to the progressive left. They don’t want that. They want people to be rewarded just for the color of their skin and identity politics. And we show that you can get ahead on your own merit, and they don’t like that. And they don’t like the fact that Israel got ahead on its own merit, that it went from being a poor country with no natural resources to being a high-tech powerhouse. They hate Israel, because they hate meritocracy.”
