Alan Jackson Announces Final Concert Before Retirement

Alan Jackson has revealed plans for one last concert before hanging up his guitar for good. The event, titled “Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale,” is set for June 27, 2026. The renowned 66-year-old country singer plans to retire from performing in 2024, following ongoing struggles with health issues.

“It’s been a long journey… It’s taken me to places I never imagined,” Jackson shared. He expressed his excitement about performing one last time in Nashville, emphasizing, “I can’t think of a better place to put on a big show and give our fans a finale than in Nashville, with so many special friends in attendance.”

Nashville holds sentimental value for the artist as he noted, “We felt like we had to end it all where it all began: Nashville, the musical city where country music lives.”

Retirement After Three Decades

Joining him for this special event will be a host of other country stars, including Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Lee Ann Womack, Keith Urban, and Miranda Lambert. Notably, proceeds from the concert will go to the CMT Research Foundation, which supports research into Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a degenerative neurological condition.

Jackson has been open about his struggles with this condition. He was diagnosed in 2011, and after completing his “Last Call: One More for the Road” tour in May, he reflected on his journey. His latest tour kicked off in 2022, exactly a year after he announced his diagnosis.

He candidly stated, “I don’t want people to think I’m drunk on stage because I have mobility and balance issues. I have a neuropathy, a neurological disease that I inherited from my father.” Despite his hesitance to discuss it publicly, he felt it was necessary to explain his on-stage presence.

Jackson added, “It’s not fatal, it’s just going to disable me in the end,” emphasizing his determination to continue making music despite the challenges he faces.

Reflecting on his long career, Jackson has certainly established himself as a significant figure in country music. As he prepares for retirement, fans are sure to remember him fondly and look forward to one last epic performance.
