The entryway to Albuquerque's Republican headquarters was destroyed by arson attacks and attempted vandalism, according to the organization.
The alleged incident took place early Sunday morning after the organization shared images showing damage to the building's entrance.
The Albuquerque Fire Department also confirmed the alleged attack, saying it had been sent to the phone just before 6am, and said the fire was in control within five minutes of the firefighter's arrival, the department said in a post on its Facebook page.
The structure damaged the entire building's front entrance and smoke damage, the department said, adding that there have been no reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The fire department, together with the Albuquerque Police Department, said this is an active and ongoing joint FBI/ATF investigation.
New Mexico Republican Speaker Amy Barrera shared the image in an X post, claiming that the alleged vandalism was an act of intentional arson, including spray painting the word “ice = kkk” with spray paint.

“This horrifying attack, supported by hatred and intolerance, is a direct attack on our rights to our values, freedom, and political expression,” writes Barrera.

Barrera went on to state that the alleged actions were “not an isolated incident.”
“This is part of the disturbing pattern of politically motivated violence that has plagued our country, and in part is flammable with silence and tacit encouragement from progressive leaders who refuse to condemn these actions,” Barrera said.

The chairman has worked closely with alcohol, cigarettes, firearms, explosives (ATFs), local law enforcement agencies and federal agents, adding that he is “committed to bring the person responsible to justice and provide all the evidence necessary to ensure that he is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
“We are deeply relieved that no one was hurt by what could have been a tragic and deadly attack,” the chairman wrote.
“Those who rely on violence to undermine our state and our nation must be held accountable, and our state leaders must reinforce through the critical action that these coronavirus attacks are not tolerated.”

In response to the organization's claims, a New Mexico Democratic spokesman told Fox News Digital that he denounced the actions taken against the GOP and hoped that the person responsible for the alleged attack would be caught.
“New Mexico Democrats are as strongly condemning vandalism at New Mexico's Republican headquarters as possible,” the statement read.
“We firmly argue that this type of conduct is absolutely unplaced in democracy, and that peaceful discourse and organization are the only way to approach the political differences in our country.
Fox News Digital reached out to FBI Albuquerque for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
