One cigarette can shorten your life by 20 minutes: data

A new study conducted in the UK has revealed that one cigarette can reduce the average life expectancy of women by an estimated 22 minutes and men by 17 minutes. According to data published in The BMJ in 2000, one cigarette shortens your life by just 11 minutes. Since these estimates, daily tobacco consumption in the UK has fallen significantly for men (15.8 vs. 11.5) and women (13.6 vs. 9.5).
