Alex Soros and Huma Abedin teased for ‘strange’ living room picture

Conservatives have altered online images of liberal donor Alex Soros and former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin. A recent article from The New Yorker gained traction on Monday, highlighting various influential New Yorkers in their living spaces, which staff writer Naomi Frye notes is often the most publicly visible area of a home, creating a certain kind of pressure.

Among the viral images shared, most featured Democrats, and a conservative social media account, ComfortablySmug, posted four images showcasing Soros, Abedin, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Ella Emhoff, Kamala Harris’s stepdaughter. A caption by the account quipped about the comfortable yet self-righteous nature of these figures.

One notable photo, which has drawn considerable attention, features Soros alongside his fiancée Abedin in their apparent minimalist apartment with views of Manhattan, a city known for its sky-high real estate prices. Political commentator Steve Guest jokingly remarked on the decor, highlighting a photo of Al Sharpton on the wall.

The image has sparked conversations about the recent campaign against oligarchy. Political strategist Matt Shack weighed in, playfully questioning the motives behind such a “oligarchy tour” mentioned by figures like Bernie Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez.

Interestingly, the photos have resulted in mixed reactions, with some, like the Town Hall account, expressing confusion and others like Washington Free Beacon reporter Chuck Ross simply laughing at the situation.
