Alica Schmidt, track star dubbed ‘world’s sexiest athlete,’ says she turned down six-figure sponsorship deal

German track and field athlete Alika Schmidt, dubbed the “world’s sexiest athlete,” announced earlier this week that she has turned down big paychecks from famous sponsors.

The 25-year-old runner told the OMR Podcast that he wasn’t completely interested in the sponsor who offered him a contract. Schmidt has more than 5 million followers on Instagram alone and has a separate contract with BOSS.

“Two months ago, I received an offer from a famous brand, but I wasn’t 100% behind it,” she said, via Germany’s Bild newspaper. “That’s not good. For a campaign, it’s going to be mid to high six figures.”

of new york post He noted that in October, Schmidt said members of the German national team earn about $739 a month in sponsorship deals through Sporthilfe, which supports players.

Schmidt was selected to represent Germany at the 2020 Olympics several years ago, but did not participate. She is aiming to be on the national team for the summer Olympics in Paris.

“I have to push my limits every day, and I often throw up after training because that’s how I suffer,” she said. “It’s also a great feeling when you accomplish something and push yourself and somewhere along the line you notice that progress.”

She was part of the team that won a silver medal at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships and a bronze medal at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships.
