14-Year-Old Boys Team Dominates Swiss Women’s National Team
The under-15 boys team from FC Luzern comfortably defeated the Swiss women’s national team 7-1 in a prep match for the upcoming Euro 2025 qualifying round. It was a significant blow for the Swiss team, which includes the well-known player Alisha Lehmann, recently celebrated as one of “the world’s sexiest soccer players.” Surprisingly, even her star presence couldn’t divert the boys’ strong performance, raising concerns about the women’s team heading into the tournament next month.
According to reports, Switzerland attempted to downplay the loss. However, the situation turned public when a player from the boys’ team shared a video of the match on TikTok, which quickly garnered around 70,000 views before being taken down.
Despite the hefty scoreline, it’s worth noting that Switzerland fielded many players who normally compete at a higher level. To illustrate, their third-string goalkeeper, Nadine Bohi, received significant playing time. This makes one wonder whether the team really would have conceded seven goals if their top players had been on the field the entire time.
In another match leading to Euro 2025, the Swiss women faced two different under-15 boys teams, losing 2-1 to FC Solothurn yet managing to secure a win against FC Beer with the same scoreline. Sven Micosse, a spokesperson for the Swiss Football Association, clarified that it’s not unusual for women’s teams to compete against youth squads, stating, “The goal is to incorporate certain competitive elements.”
As Switzerland continues its preparations, they have a friendly match lined up against the Czech Republic, followed by their Euro 2025 opener against Norway on July 2nd at St. Jacob Park. It’ll be interesting to see how they bounce back and what adjustments they make moving forward.
