Trump Labels D.C. Shooting as Terrorism
President Donald Trump described the recent shooting in Washington D.C., which seriously injured two National Guard members, as “an act of terror.”
In a video shared on Truth Social, Trump expressed his belief that the individual in custody had entered the U.S. from Afghanistan. He conveyed his confidence in this information, suggesting it came from reliable sources.
“I can report tonight that based on the best available information, the Department of Homeland Security is confident that the suspect in custody is a foreigner who entered our country from Afghanistan, a hellhole on Earth,” Trump stated in the video. He went on to mention the controversial flights that brought individuals from Afghanistan in September 2021, which he claims were poorly regulated.
“Nobody knew who was coming in, nobody knew anything about it,” he added.
Trump emphasized the need for his administration to reassess everyone who entered the United States from Afghanistan during Biden’s time in office.
“We must now reexamine every single alien who has entered our country from Afghanistan under Biden, and we must take all necessary measures to ensure the removal of any alien from any country who does not belong here, or add benefit to our country,” he remarked. “If they can’t love our country, we don’t want them.”
