On CNN on Wednesday, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), debated the possibility that U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg is facing a bluff each following threats aimed at the Trump administration regarding efforts to deport criminally illegal aliens.
Jordan said “all options” were on the table on Boasberg.
“So I want to start with a simple question,” said CNN host Kasie Hunt. “Do you think Justice Boasberg should be fired each, just like President Trump?”
Jordan said, “Well, as Supreme Court Justice Roberts pointed out, the relief for a bad decision is usually the Court of Appeal. But there may be something a little different here. This judge's decision seems so ridiculous. Democrats spoke forever, and of course, Kevin Kleinsmith's ruling, who lied to the FISA court, changed the document in the same time frame.
“So for our Republicans and for those on the Judiciary Committee, all the options are still on the table,” he continued. “We do some research, we dig into this, and we know. And I think you're really going back and seeing how stupid the decision by Casey, and this judge was. That face, this is ridiculous, so it looks like the judge is acting politically.”
“OK, yes,” Hunt intervened. “I fully understand the debate about whether people should fly – whether these people should be deported or not. I want to make it a little more clear what you're saying. What did Judge Boasberg do that you believed was a percheable crime under the constitutional statement of high crimes and misdemeanors?”
“What I'm saying is a ruling of law if you're not just following the law, but acting in a political way,” Jordan said. “And frankly, I argue that it is his ruling in itself. The Constitution is pretty clear. Article 2, Article 1, the very first ruling says that the power of the administrative division has authority over the President of the United States. This judge.
