‘All-out War’ Looms as Hezbollah Rocket Kills 12 Israeli Druze Arabs, Including Kids

MAGDALA, Israel — Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said Saturday that Israel was facing “all-out war” after Hezbollah fired rockets at the Israeli Druze Arab village of Majdal Shams, killing at least 12 people, including children, on Saturday evening.

Children around 10 to 12 years old were playing soccer on the field when the rocket struck. Witnesses interviewed by Israel’s Channel 13 said warning sirens sounded only when the rocket hit.

The Israel Times report It was initially reported that the rocket attack had killed at least six people and wounded 30. Israel’s Channel 12 reported that nine people had been killed. The number continued to grow overnight.

Katz said the long-awaited war may be inevitable after the horrific attacks on civilian targets. report:

“There’s no question that Hezbollah has crossed all the lines,” Katz told Channel 12 News. “We’re facing all-out war.”

“There is no doubt that we will pay a price,” he added, but argues that Israel will demand an even greater price from Hezbollah.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was visiting the United States, was also informed of the attack and cut short his trip to return to Israel, breaking the Jewish Sabbath as permitted in matters of life and death.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement:

According to an analysis of the IDF’s operational systems, the rocket launch at the center of Majdal Shams came from an area located north of the village of Shebaa in southern Lebanon.

Credible intelligence held by the Israel Defense Forces said Hezbollah was behind the attack.

Hezbollah appears to have distanced itself from the attack due to the fact that the victims were children and the presence of Druze sects in southern Lebanon who could turn against Hezbollah if sufficiently provoked.

Earlier, Hezbollah had fired a slew of rockets into northern Israeli areas, as Breitbart News reported, and fires were seen further south near the Church of the Beatitudes, though it is unclear if they are related.
