All five people injured after a mass shooting fired at Florida State University on Thursday are expected to make a “full recovery,” doctors said Friday.
Dr. Bret Howard, a surgeon at Tallahassee Memorial Health, said the suspect and victim were in a hurry after the attack, saying “all six of us are in stable condition today.”
“We feel that everything will be fully recovered,” he said at a news conference.
Two of the injured are expected to return home by the end of Friday, he said.
The doctors performed surgery on the injured patient, including facial and abdominal procedures, but none of them were identified by a medical professional.
All injured people were “clear minds” and “can talk to us,” the second doctor said after being recognized following Thursday’s filming on campus.
Authorities said Thursday that five people were injured in the shooting and the suspect, 20-year-old Phoenix Echner, was shot dead by police before being treated at a hospital.
Two people were killed in a shooting near the Student Union on the Tallahassee campus late Thursday morning.
