The book titled Photography of Charlie Kirk was listed for sale on Amazon with a release date of September 9, 2025, which is just a day before the founder of Turning Point USA was assassinated. Amazon later attributed the premature listing to “technical issues,” stating that it had to remove the book for not adhering to their content guidelines.
After Kirk’s tragic death, screenshots of the book on Amazon circulated on social media, sparking concern over the bizarre timing of its publication date. Users quickly pointed out that it coincided with the day before the tragic event.
An Amazon representative explained to Breitbart News that the listed publication date was incorrect due to a glitch. “The date displayed briefly was wrong, and I apologize for any confusion this may have caused,” the spokesperson clarified. The book was officially published later on September 10.
Following the backlash, the book was taken down from the platform, leading some to speculate that it may have been hastily compiled content that shouldn’t have been for sale at all.
“We have specific content guidelines for listings, and we will remove any that do not comply,” the Amazon spokesperson added. “This title is no longer available for purchase.”
On Thursday night, 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson was apprehended after being reported by his father. Utah Governor Spencer Cox (R) noted that Robinson allegedly shouted, “Hey fascist! Catch!” before the incident.
Kirk was killed during an event at the university, where he had been known for fostering open discussions with those who disagreed with him.
Turning Point USA released a statement on Thursday, describing Kirk as a proponent of free speech, which they assert is highly valued in America.
