Amazon Prime members now have the benefit of saving money when they fill up their gas tank.
E-commerce giant Amazon on Wednesday introduced a fuel savings benefit that gives Prime members 10 cents off every gallon of gas they buy at about 7,000 U.S. gas stations.
The company says the thousands of gas stations where Prime members can take advantage of the new benefits are all BP, Amoco and APM stores.

Amazon and Earnify will “offer Prime members 5 cents per gallon each, with no minimum or maximum gallons required, and a total discount of 10 cents including all fuel grades,” e-commerce says. the major said on its website.
Amazon says Prime members must “enter a phone number or linked payment method” to take advantage of the discount at participating gas stations. Another option is to use the Earnify app.

Amazon Prime's new benefits come after rival Walmart has long offered gas-saving benefits to paying members.

Earnify, which is required to access Amazon Prime's gas-saving perks, was rolled out by BP earlier this month. The company said at the time that its Rewards app “aims to provide users with a seamless, integrated and rewarding experience both at the pump and in-store.”
As of late Wednesday afternoon, the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline nationwide was $3.155, according to AAA. This price represents a decline of more than 1.6% compared to a month ago and a decline of 11.1% compared to a year ago.
In the United States, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline hit a record high of $5.016 in mid-June 2022, according to AAA.
