Local Impact of Immigration Policy

Often, immigration policy is debated in terms of numbers or political stances, but its true effects are more visible in communities. While other nations implement stringent immigration laws, Americans, as noted by Aaron McIntyre, might be feeling the repercussions of our own indifference.

McIntyre expressed, “I don’t envision the Dominican Republic as my long-term home, but it’s certainly well-structured. They have stringent border measures, and anyone approaching is met with severe consequences, as they regard it as a societal threat.”

He further elaborated on Haiti’s historical context, stating, “Haiti originated from a dark voodoo ritual that involved bloodshed, particularly against white Europeans. The narrative of rallying against their oppressors, which culminated in their self-governance, has led to a dire reality.”

Moreover, he expressed concern about cultural influences making their way to the U.S., “It’s perplexing that there are still those attempting to import this culture into our nation.”

In an alarming account from his neighborhood, McIntyre recounted a chilling incident involving a woman who tragically lost her life at the hands of Haitian immigrants, describing it as one of the most distressing videos he has ever witnessed.

“This isn’t just a theoretical discussion anymore. It’s the unfortunate reality where individuals in my vicinity are victims of violence tied to these circumstances,” he remarked.

He lamented that the narrative appears skewed, as the focus seems to shift away from the victimized American citizen to the safety of the immigrants themselves. He observed that most of these individuals contribute little to society.

“Statistics indicate that around 65% of Haitian households depend on welfare programs. This reliance signifies a migratory drain on American resources,” he noted, emphasizing the financial burden on the average taxpayer.

“We are essentially funding these individuals’ existence, potentially at the expense of our fellow citizens,” he emphasized. “Thus, both the economic and moral arguments surrounding this situation are fundamentally flawed.”
