An American sheriff's deputy and grandmother was shot and killed over the weekend while celebrating her sister's birthday in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Deputy Shamone Duncan, 50, of Cook County, Illinois, was shot to death along with local resident Dario Stubbs outside a restaurant on Grace Bay Road around 10 p.m. Saturday, the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Department said. Announced in the release.
“Responding officers found three people with gunshot wounds, one of whom succumbed to his injuries at the scene and another who died at an area hospital. The third victim was identified as a 29-year-old man. , is receiving treatment,” Acting Chief Rodney Adams wrote in the release.

“There is no evidence to suggest that Mr. Duncan, Mr. Stubbs or the injured victim were the targets of this incident,” Adams said.
No arrests had been made in the shooting as of Tuesday afternoon.
The 50-year-old grandmother was on her second of three days off celebrating her sister's birthday at Aziza Restaurant and Providenciales rooftop party the night she died, her family said. ABC 7 Chicago.
