Andrew Dreschsel, 35, of St. Cloud, Florida, pleaded guilty on June 1, 2023, before Chief U.S. District Judge Rene M. Bambu to one count of receiving child pornography and one count of knowingly persuading, inducing, enticing or coercing a minor to travel out of state to engage in sexual conduct. The defendant faces a number of charges. Judge Bambu imposed the sentence today in Camden Federal Court.

From 2014 to November 8, 2019, Dreschsel lived in Hamden, Connecticut. The victim lived in New Jersey. On November 8, 2019, law enforcement investigators searched one of Dreschsel’s cellphones and discovered child sexual abuse imagery, including photos and videos of the victim when she was 14 and 15 years old. Dreschsel admitted to first meeting the victim in 2014 while he was active in the parkour community as an “American Ninja Warrior.” Dreschsel admitted to sending text messages to the victim and discussing plans to engage in sexual acts with the victim. At Dreschsel’s urging, the victim traveled across state lines in July 2015, and Dreschsel engaged in sexual relations with the victim.
NBC has reportedly severed ties with Dreschussel. arrested NBC’s Mike Sinton spoke out about the crime in 2020, saying, “He will be edited out of American Ninja Warrior.” He also noted that the network “will be editing him out of American Ninja Warrior” because “he was competing in a season that was scheduled to air this fall.”

Dreschsel was given 15 years’ probation and ordered to pay $100,000 in restitution to the victim, prosecutors said.
