Sen.-elect Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said Sunday on ABC's “This Week” that Americans need President-elect Donald Trump to “pardon the criminals” involved in the Jan. 6 incident. He claimed he did not vote.
Host George Stephanopoulos asked, “What about the question about the Jan. 6 pardon?”
Schiff said: “Well, I'm very concerned about that. First of all, being able to pardon people who hit police officers, gouged them, sprayed them with bear spray, but beyond that, George, first I also want to send a general message that pardons will be given to those who asked for them. Indeed, by using violence at the Capitol to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, that played a role. Do people want to forgive?”
He added: “I think the American people voted for him not because they wanted him to pardon criminals who attack the government, but because they wanted him to do something about crime.'' Ta.
Schiff added: “They want something done about fentanyl, they want something done about the pushover in California. This is not what they had in mind, it's politics. It is not about revenge, nor is it about rewarding those who participated in the rebellion to prevent the transfer of power.
