Trump’s Victory and the Russian Conspiracy Hoax
The contrast between President Donald Trump’s major win and what followed is stark. Trump’s brand of transparency, showcased over the last months, has shifted dramatically, transforming from potentially the most open administration to something less clear in a heartbeat. Uncovering the truth behind the Russian conspiracy narrative is crucial for restoring faith in government operations.
National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard has brought forth some eye-opening new information. Recently released documents indicate that the entire narrative surrounding Russia was orchestrated by senior officials in the Obama administration, including Barack Obama himself. This connection raises questions about the motivations behind the narrative.
A declassified version of Obama’s President’s Daily Brief from December 8, 2016, states that there was no indication of malicious Russian interference affecting recent U.S. elections. These significant details remained concealed from the public for nearly a decade, thanks to Gabbard’s efforts.
The findings suggest that there was a deliberate effort to manipulate intelligence to present Trump as a Russian asset who unfairly secured the presidency with help from Vladimir Putin. This was, arguably, one of the grandest deceptions in American political history. Instead of ensuring a peaceful transfer of power, figures such as Obama, former CIA director John Brennan, and others took what many see as a damaging approach against an elected president.
Some label this situation a coup, while others call it treason. As a decade has passed since this politically-charged farce began, a comprehensive criminal inquiry seems warranted. People want thorough investigations led by experts genuinely seeking the truth—not simply the usual superficial probes that Washington often offers. The establishment of dedicated task forces within the Department of Justice signals a potentially positive step forward.
I recall a meeting with James Comey, the then-FBI director, at Trump Tower. During that encounter, he suggested that political outsiders were not well-received in Washington. The origins of the documents and their inaccuracies were never adequately clarified. Instead, high-ranking officials in the Obama administration seemed to exploit false information to fabricate a scandal aimed at damaging Trump’s presidency.
It took significant time for Americans to realize that the documents were financed and organized by Hillary Clinton’s campaign, crafted to undermine Trump’s election. Disclosure of this from the outset could have alleviated a lot of unnecessary turmoil. However, they opted to collaborate with biased media to amplify these falsehoods.
Trump endured countless lies and investigations, mainly because he challenged the prevailing policies of Clinton and Obama. Not only is an extensive investigation in the works, but it’s also imperative that the Trump administration maintains openness with all pertinent records.
Key records from Special Advisor John Durham’s investigation, as well as transcripts from former Justice Department inspector Michael Horowitz’s findings, should be made public quickly. My organization, Citizens United, filed a request for transparency regarding these documents years ago but has only received a limited amount of heavily edited material thus far.
Support for a dual approach of both transparency and investigation is strong among Americans, who appreciate Trump and his team for not merely moving on. There’s a belief that deep-seated interests rely on time to diminish concerns. That’s why it’s crucial to persist in seeking the truth. Figures like Barack Obama, Brennan, Clapper, and Comey should face questioning under oath regarding their apparent conspiracy to undermine the American people’s will in 2016. Accountability is necessary.
