Emily Gold, a member of her high school dance team, committed suicide just weeks after appearing on “America's Got Talent.”
The Rancho Cucamonga Highway Patrol Office issued a press release Friday saying officers responded to a call about a “pedestrian in the lanes” on the 210 Freeway late Friday night and dispatched officers to the scene.
“An unidentified female was struck by at least one vehicle in the high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes of eastbound SR-210 Freeway. The female was pronounced deceased from her injuries,” the press release stated.

“The circumstances behind this incident are currently under investigation,” the press release continued.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Gold's family. The 17-year-old's family wrote: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Los Osos Grizzly Emily Gold. Let's come together as a community to support the Gold family during this difficult time. Please know that this money will go directly to the family to help with their living expenses.”

Los Osos High School Principal Eric Seifer released a statement to parents and students following Gold's death.
“We are sorry to share the tragic news about a fellow Grizzly Bear. Early this morning, beloved Grizzly senior Emily Gold passed away,” the message began, according to Deadline. “Emily was a member of both the Varsity Dance Team and the Varsity Cheerleading Team. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this time of grief.”
Los Osos High School Varsity Dance Instagram account She shared a post filled with videos, photos and messages honoring Gold.
“We appreciate the love and support shown during this time of grief and ask that you keep the Gold family in your thoughts and prayers,” the caption read.

The high school dance team reached the quarterfinals of “America's Got Talent” in August. AGT did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
Although the dance team did not make it to the finals, judge Simon Cowell offered words of encouragement to the young dancers.

“It was amazing,” Cowell said. “What I loved about the event was, first of all, the energy. I think what we saw was everything a great school should do, which is to encourage talent and friendship.”
