Amnesty International, an international NGO, has faced widespread ridicule over a post praising a deceased Palestinian terrorist as merely an “author,” although the group said the terrorist recently died in Israeli custody. “It is a cruel reminder of Israel’s disregard for the Palestinian people’s right to exist,” he said.

Dhaka was convicted in 1984 of leading a group that kidnapped, tortured, mutilated and murdered 19-year-old Israeli soldier Moshe Tamam. Tamam’s eyes were gouged out and his genitals severed before he was shot in the chest.

Amnesty International, which focuses on human rights, advocated for Dhaka’s release, but he died before his release date could be extended.
