Amy Klobuchar ridiculed for using the same Vikings photo annually

Klobuchar encouraged to run for Minnesota governor as Walz steps aside due to scandal

Klobuchar Faces Criticism Over Reused Vikings Shirt Photo

Senator Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat from Minnesota, drew significant mockery online this week as critics accused her of being inauthentic. The backlash stemmed from her posting the same image, taken in the same shirt, in support of the Minnesota Vikings for several consecutive years.

On Sunday, Klobuchar shared on X, “Game Day against the Packers. Time to get out the shirt,” referencing the NFL team’s opening game of the season. However, many quickly noted that she had used the same photo—albeit cropped differently—multiple times over the years, leading users to call her out as out of touch.

Townhall columnist Dustin Grage remarked on X, “Amy Klobuchar has now used the exact same photo to ring in the Vikings season opener four years in a row. So authentic.” Conservative commentator Riley Gaines added her own sarcastic take, saying, “Dems trying to appeal to normal people in a nutshell lol.”

In another note of irony, Grage pointed out that this year’s caption—‘time to get out the shirt’—was misleading since the photo was reused from 2023. Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle chimed in, stating, “Amy Klobuchar has been a fraud for a lot longer than she has been reusing this photograph.”

Comments included one from a Minnesota fraud reporting account that labeled Klobuchar the “most inauthentic, plastic politician” one could encounter. “Very fake is how Amy Klobuchar really is,” they said.

Former Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh humorously commented that Klobuchar seemed to only have one Vikings shirt, as “there’s only one photo in existence of her actually wearing it.” Overall, the sentiment on social media was overwhelmingly critical of her actions.

Meanwhile, Klobuchar is gearing up for a campaign against Minnesota Republican Speaker of the House Lisa Demuth in November, following the outgoing Democratic Governor Tim Walz. She has faced increasing scrutiny, particularly regarding a significant fraud scandal that has plagued the state during her Senate tenure.

In response to these criticisms, Klobuchar has promised to initiate a “top-to-bottom audit” of state agencies on her first day as governor in an attempt to identify “waste, fraud, and abuse.” It’s her way of addressing the concerns as she moves forward in her campaign.
