Amy Schumer reveals she is divorcing her husband Chris Fischer after seven years.

Amy Schumer and her husband Chris Fischer have decided to separate after seven years of marriage. She made the announcement via an Instagram post, expressing that while it’s a challenging decision, they’ve chosen to prioritize co-parenting their son moving forward. She asked everyone to respect their privacy during this time.

Schumer humorously mentioned in her post that their breakup wasn’t due to trying to “lose some weight” or any other similar reasons. In fact, she emphasized that their mutual love remains strong and described the split as amicable and rooted in respect. Closing her message, she noted, “Family forever.”

Earlier, Schumer had hinted at some underlying issues in her marriage during an Instagram video that showcased her son giving a “bedroom tour.” She clarified that any turmoil had nothing to do with her weight loss journey or any personal challenges. This month, she posted a striking photo showing off her weight loss which garnered positive feedback from fellow celebrities.

Schumer and Fischer began dating in late 2017 and tied the knot in early 2018, shortly after announcing their relationship publicly. They welcomed their son, Gene, in May 2019. Schumer has often spoken about Fischer, including his autism diagnosis, saying it brought them closer and offered them useful insights into their relationship. She’s also shared candid thoughts about her fertility struggles over the years, revealing her experience with IVF and the emotional toll it can take.

During the pandemic, they collaborated on the Food Network show “Amy Schumer Learns to Cook,” and also featured in the documentary series “Expecting Amy,” which documented Schumer’s journey through her pregnancy. As they navigate this new chapter, the couple remains committed to caring for their family, showcasing how life’s complexities can evolve despite change.
