Amy Schumer Addresses Marriage Concerns and Weight Loss
Amy Schumer spoke out on concerns regarding her marriage to Chris Fischer this past Monday.
The comedian shared a lengthy update through Instagram Reels, where she discussed her recent weight loss and clarified that her slim figure isn’t connected to her relationship status.
“Whatever happens to me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism,” the 44-year-old star of “I Feel Pretty” stated.
Schumer, who revealed her husband received an autism diagnosis in 2019, added, “We made it through. He’s the best.”
In the caption, she prompted her followers by asking, “Do you have any questions?”
Alongside Fischer, who is 45, they appeared in a video featuring their 6-year-old son, Gene, showcasing a “bedroom tour.”
Schumer expressed optimism, mentioning, “I’m keeping my fingers crossed,” and playfully referred to Fischer as “the best.”
During the video, Gene adorably called Schumer “funny,” to which Fischer nodded in agreement.
The young boy also highlighted his “super cool race car,” bike, and “lots of Legos,” with Schumer’s remarks overlaying the video.
Supporters praised her openness about personal matters, while Judd Apatow humorously commented on how simple it can be.
She also shared a screenshot of her statement on her story.
Despite their marriage being under scrutiny, her representative confirmed to People last month that Schumer and Fischer are “privately working through the normal issues that come with long-term married couples” while remaining “fully committed to their relationship.”
Yet, Schumer stirred rumors of a split when she was seen without her wedding ring in a recent Instagram post. The couple tied the knot in February 2018 in Malibu, just three months after their relationship became public.
Over the years, Schumer has been open about their marriage, even sharing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2022 that she struggles with intimacy in a marriage. Her recent video also touched on her significant weight loss, revealing it wasn’t about aesthetics but rather a necessary step to address Cushing’s syndrome, a condition characterized by excessive cortisol production in the body.
After her 2024 project “Internet Chimes,” she discussed her health challenges, highlighting the impact of her diagnosis. It’s a lot to unpack, really.
