An alleged love triangle in Texas nearly ended the life of a Houston man who was ambushed, kidnapped, and shot at by a woman who reportedly had an affair with and her husband.

A Texas couple allegedly ambushed, kidnapped and attempted to kill the wife's alleged ex-lover over the weekend.

The victim, who did not give her name because she feared for her life, is said to have been having an affair with 35-year-old Hana Ahmad Aloraimi. Both the victim and Aloraimi were reportedly married to other people.

The victim was unaware that Aloraimi's husband, Omar Mahmoud Bishtawi, 48, was reportedly hiding in the back seat of the car.

The victim managed to escape, called for help, and was rushed to the hospital.

Court documents say the victim was shot in the thigh and right leg and could have died from the gunfire if not taken to a hospital in time.

The suspects reportedly fled in a vehicle but later turned themselves in to Houston police. Police said Aloraimi and Bishtawi gave contradictory statements to investigators about the near-fatal crash.

Bishtawi and Aloraimi are both charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.

Bishtawi's bond was set at $200,000 and Aloraimi's bond was set at $150,000.

Bishtawi and Aloraimi have three children, ages 13, 10 and 7, according to court documents.
