Andie MacDowell is battling a painful neuromuscular disorder.
“I have piriformis syndrome, so I have a muscle that kind of pinches the sciatic nerve, and it hit my leg,” McDowell said on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”
“I was thinking of getting a hip replacement. Thankfully, my hip is fine,” she said.

Piriformis syndrome occurs when the piriformis muscle compresses the sciatic nerve, causing inflammation. It can cause pain and numbness in the buttocks and back of the legs. It can occur on one or both sides of the body. cleveland clinic.
The 66-year-old actress added that she exercises daily to reduce the pain.
“I have to work out my tiny little butt and my lower back. I have to work out my butt and lower back. I just do it every day…I don't hurt anymore…it's a miracle,” McDowell said. Ta.

During her appearance, McDowell made a weak confession about her health, saying she felt “literally falling apart” after starting riding an indoor bike “like a crazy person.”

“It didn't fit my body, so my knees got worse and my hips got worse,” she explained.
“The good news is my work is okay,” McDowell said. “My knees are good except for aging. They're aging.”
She continued, “As I get older, I think…lifting weights, working out… [personal trainer] PT personnel, please train your muscles. ”

“Everything changes, and it's a difficult change.” she confessed. “I hear a lot of mothers talk about being… happy… free… but I didn't have that feeling, and I still don't have that feeling. I had to work really hard to be independent. It didn't happen.''
The St. Elmo's Fire actress has three children with ex-husband Paul Qualley: daughters Margaret and Laney, and son Justin. Both daughters are following in their mother's acting footsteps.
