Dan Hurley, the UW men’s basketball coach, definitely has a supportive ally in his wife, Andrea. During a panel on CBS Sports Network, she opened up about their life together, sharing insights on their unique bond.

“We got married when we were 20,” Andrea remarked. “I believe there’s something divine connecting us. We make a great team. I can handle him, keep him humble, and I’m always rooting for him. Honestly, I don’t think anyone else could manage him like I do, so I guess God chose me for a reason.”

Recently, Andrea made headlines while backing her husband during a game against St. John’s, where she expressed disappointment over Red Storm fans cheering for the Huskies, especially after they lost to Duke in the Sweet 16.

“Honestly, it was heartbreaking to see all the St. John’s fans supporting UW at the Elite Eight game,” she shared, sounding frustrated. “That was just really sad and, well, a pretty crappy thing to do.”

She’s garnered attention for her spirited presence, particularly during the Elite Eight when UW made a surprising comeback against Duke. There was this moment where she was trying to keep her players from celebrating too early—it’s not always wise to jump the gun, after all. But, you know, you also have to be careful not to overstep, because rushing the court before the game ends could lead to penalties.

Looking ahead, the Huskies are set to take on the University of Michigan for the national championship title on Monday night. Winning this match would mark yet another addition to their impressive legacy.

This victory could represent their third title within four years, their fifth since 2010, and their seventh overall. If they manage to pull it off, they’d secure third place alone in men’s college basketball history, just behind Kentucky, and could break the tie they currently share with North Carolina.
