Andy Cohen is ‘paddling really, really fast under the water’ to maintain career

Anderson Cooper says his best friend Andy Cohen has a lot going for him to survive in showbiz.

Bravo executives have faced intense scrutiny in recent months after being the subject of allegations by several former “Real Housewives” stars.

Cooper, 57, said his friends do a lot of work behind the scenes to keep it going.

“Every day I turn on my phone, I see something from Andy Cohen,” Cooper says. He told Vulture “More than any late-night TV host,” Cohen, 56, said.

While the Bravo boss “makes it look easy,” Cooper admitted that his friend is “paddling really fast in the water.”

While Cooper did not name anyone specifically, he was likely referring to the outside investigation into misconduct allegations Bravo launched against Cohen earlier this year.

In March, former “Real Housewives of New York City” cast member Leah McSweeney filed a lengthy lawsuit making numerous accusations against Cohen and the Bravo flagship series.

In her lawsuit, she accused Cohen of providing cocaine to certain talent and giving them special professional benefits.

McSweeney, 41, said Cohen and Bravo They exploited her drinking problem to boost ratings and fostered a work environment that turned a blind eye to sexually exploitative behavior.

Cohen has categorically denied the allegations, with the TV personality’s representative previously telling Page Six: “The allegations against Andy are completely false.”

Meanwhile, former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Brandi Glanville accused Cohen of sexual harassment in February, claiming that he invited her to watch him have sex with former “Below Deck” star Kate Chastain.

Cohen denied the allegations through X but publicly apologized for making an “inappropriate” joke during a phone call between the three in 2022.

Both allegations have led numerous “housewives” to speak out in Cohen’s defense.

Elsewhere in the Vulture interview, Cohen admitted he’s “waiting” for something to suddenly come along that will finally defeat him.

“Sometimes I lie in bed at night and I’m like, ‘Oh, did I say something?'” the “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” host told the outlet. “I’m always waiting for that one thing to happen that’s going to make it all fall apart.”

He added that he is “fascinated” by the fact that saying something can so quickly reverse a situation.

“You have to be careful with what you say because there’s no nuance anymore,” he told media. “People are just waiting to get outraged over the smallest of things.”
