The 37-year-old Murray has won three Grand Slam singles titles in his career, including victories at his home tournament, Wimbledon, in 2013 and 2016.

Murray has struggled with a number of injuries throughout his career, most recently undergoing back surgery which forced him to withdraw from Wimbledon’s singles match this month.

He played doubles with his brother Jamie but the pair were eliminated in the first round in emotional scenes in the British star’s home country.

Murray also won the U.S. Open in 2012.

The Scot will be going into the Olympics seeking his third gold medal after winning top honours in the men’s singles in 2012 and 2016.
