Angel Reese Featured on NBA 2K26 Cover
Angel Reese has made headlines by being featured on the cover of the NBA 2K26 video game, which was released recently. She shares this honor with notable figures like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the Oklahoma City Thunder and former New York Knicks star, Carmelo Anthony.
In addition to the general cover, Reese is also highlighted in the WNBA edition alongside prominent players like Candace Parker and Diana Taurasi.
Interestingly, the announcement coincided with Reebok unveiling her new signature shoes, which are showcased on the game cover. On social media, Reese expressed her excitement, saying, “Of course we’ll make everything bigger. Why not try debuting my signature shoes on an NBA 2K cover?!?”
However, her selection did raise eyebrows among WNBA fans, especially since Kate Rinklerk of the Indiana Fever had received the most All-Star votes this year. Reese responded to comments about her selection, remarking on the mixed reactions with a light-hearted tone.
Reese and Rinklerk are notably connected through their rivalry; Reese famously taunted Rinklerk during their championship showdown in 2023. This connection will continue as both players embark on their WNBA careers, with Rinklerk being the No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft. Both were All-Star teammates last year, highlighting their competitive spirit.
Currently, Reese is having a strong season, averaging 13.3 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. She was an All-Star last season and is set to participate in the upcoming All-Star Game.
Zak Armitage, the General Manager for NBA 2K, shared insights on why Reese was chosen for the cover, stating, “NBA 2K26 celebrates boldness, confidence, and vision. Angel Reese embodies these qualities both on and off the court.”
In just her second year in the WNBA, Reese has made a significant impact, sparking important conversations and inspiring younger fans. Her influence is clear, and it seems she is shaping the future of women’s basketball.
