Angel Reese Breaks Ground as First Athlete to Walk Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Angel Reese has made a significant mark in women’s basketball, but her influence isn’t limited to just the court. The forward for the Chicago Sky has been selected by Victoria’s Secret to participate in their fashion show in New York City, making history as the first athlete to ever strut down the runway at the event.

Reese, who attended last year’s show as a spectator, will now take on the role of a global ambassador for the brand.

“I couldn’t stop smiling,” Reese said, reflecting on the surreal nature of being invited back. “Last year, I was in the audience, completely inspired by all the incredible women walking the runway. And now to return as an Angel—it’s truly unforgettable.” She expressed gratitude for this unique opportunity.

Moreover, Reese emphasized her desire to motivate women everywhere. “I hope to inspire women and girls around the world,” she declared, stressing that success can be found both on and off the field. “Walking the most iconic runway in fashion and entertainment is just one way to show that.” She’s a two-time WNBA All-Star, after all.

Since her rise to fame in basketball, Reese has carved out a personal brand beyond the sport. She hosts the “Unapologetically Angel” podcast and has partnered with brands like Reebok. Last August, she launched the “Angel Reese x Reese’s Pieces Logo Collection,” which indicates her knack for blending sports and lifestyle.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show made its return last year after a six-year break, and the upcoming 2025 edition is set for October 15th, streaming live on Prime Video.

“I’ve been balancing training for both basketball and the fashion show for the past few weeks,” Reese mentioned. “By Wednesday night, I’ll be ready to swap my Angel Wreath 1s for heels!”
